Audi A4 Avant V6 New Owner

Evening.

Thought I should introduce myself as I have just joined the ranks of Audi Owners.

I picked up a 1997 Lime Green A4 Avant V6 2.6 yesterday and drove the 120 miles home.

What a marvellous experience! So fast and quiet even compared to my 850R which so far is the fastest estate I have ever owned.

Its done 100K with full Audi history and seems OK.

Even though the car just passed its MOT on monday and was serviced November are there known Audi V6 things I should check over.

How rare (or not!) are these.

Also fancied a subtle bodykit as I have seen the RS4 which looks awesome. Is there a good place to look

Your ABC V6 is bullet proof and thought by many to have been produced during Audis' finest hour, along with the 5 potters of course.
Regular servicing using quality kit and she will go on forever

Hi there,

Just to let you know, i to am a proud owner of an A4 Avant 2.6 V6, it's done 157000 mls and it is still going strong all i have had to do was fit a new steering rack, there is some rust coming through on the wings thats my next job.

You will have a lot of fun with it, i am.

i have a 2.6 quattro saloon and it is the best car i ever owned. currently has 151,000 miles on it and drives like new. the engine makes a sweet noise and it scares the saxos something chronic. hope yours serves you as well as mine does

The only common things are oil leaks and worn suspension. You would have noticed either of these by now so nothing to worry for now.
