This will apply to many vehicles across the VAG brand.

I installed a reversing camera which replaces my nearside numberplate light. The unit provides a smaller built in numberplate light but this is LED and as such it has caused me to have a bulb out warning appear on the Dis.

What electrical components do i have to wire in to get this warning to go away? Some sort of resistor? and do i put it on the positive or negative feed?

    Thanks in advance.

You should have two wires. You put the resistor across the two wires as if it is a bulb you want to light. You want something like 30 ohm resistor but with a high power. At least 5 watts.

    Cheers Martin.
I will look at maplins for this.
As it is the number plate light, I could solder it across the terminals behind the camera.

It explains here. https://sites.google.com/site/1810ma...lbs-and-lights what you need to do and why. The maplin resistors should be fine. Just pick a value near 30 ohms.
You could try a 22 or 47 as they don't seem to do 30 ohm.

I bought a 47ohm 7w resister. It's a bit larger than I hoped but we will work with it.

You don't want something too small. It will over heat.

Pleased to report that the resistor pictured above has solved the bulb out warning.
