Well done John. You are spot on . I will be spending around another 40hrs on my sat when the weather warms up. Reason being I want as near as possible to a 100% correction.

I dont want to introduce any more swirls or scratches hence buying a leaf blower.

Mrs Rappy thinks I'm crazy!!!! Leaf blower on a car!!!

You cant beat the look of a highly machined polished black car for depth and clarity . I hate swirls and scratches . Every time you touch the car you will introduce both.

My wash process will be rinse with water so it sheets off the car and use a leaf blower to dry .

My neighbours will think I have lost the plot or just agree as previous that I'm car crazy

It's an endless fight against swirls. After a full correction in October and being extra careful all winter the swirls are back.

As someone who never really polishes a car, all this is making me feel a bit smug.

I work on the principle that when I've washed it it will get dirty pdq, and that it will be dirty more than it will ever be clean, so what's the point (that's a rhetorical question btw) in keeping washing it (I appreciate that things might be a bit different if it's a company car) and 'scratching' it.

If and when I wash mine I clean the front with a spray of supermarket furniture polish to remove any dead flies (no need in the winter) and that's it. I stand back and think how good it looks, and then wait for the inevitable trip out and a dirty car again.

I do, however, remember that I was once like you Rappy, but that was a long time ago.

And, it does help that the roads round here don't get quite so dirty as some.

    Best wishes
