I'm looking through my new Haynes manual (fantastic so far) at the wiring diagram for the door entry lights. Front doors seem simple, positive to pin 32 and ground the negative in the door control module. However, for the rear doors it says I need to wire directly to the convenience system control unit. Will this mean I have to send wires all the way to the dash to get them to work? There doesn't seem to be a door control module like there is in the front doors.

Here's a quick photo of the diagram

Back doors have a control module if you have rear electric windows. No electric windows means no control module.
Rear entry light is 18 pin white connector, pins 4 and 14. Have fun.

Martin I'm stuck on the front doors! This is what I'm going buy and can't get it to make sence.

In the garage at the moment trying to make sence of it. Put simple, where does the positive wire go and where foes the negative wire go? There is already a blue wire in pin 1, a blue:red in pin 2 and brown:green in pin 32.

Does the light work off the pins its supposed to be ? If they're occupied just tap into them and check for errors, if none you're ok.......Activate it first with vagcom , at least then you can test before you commit .......I know on mine at least one pin was already occupied, so i tapped into it and all is well no errors......

Mine was pin 1 + and pin 4 neg. It was the only combo that would work. Yours may be different though, at least if its activated you can play around and get it right...........let us know

Pins 18 and 19 on 32 pin connector. Pin 19 is the -ve if you are going LED.

None of these combos are working. There isn't a pin at position 4, 18 and 19 doesn't work and tried a combo of all of them.

Think it's the coding that isn't working. The coding says door exit/emergency light installed +0000064. So added 64 to 693 which the door was to start with. Is that right?

It's far to cold out, so added DRLs, lock conformation beep and a big speedo read out on the MFD!
