So, I retrofitted a MFSW to my Mk.5. My wheel is the new style with th phone and star buttons on the left. I can't change the channel or song on my radio with this setup since I only have the small MFD. Would it be possible to change the song with the steering wheel controls if I swapped the buttons for the old style with the mute and recycling buttons?

I assume you followed a detailed set of instructions, had the corect module(s) for your car and did all the appropriate coding?

There are some good guides on this forum if you do a search. Also, there is a massive, massive thread over on a UK Golf forum. It has lots of information as well as pitfalls, problems and photos. I'm sure it works with the mid-line display, because I was looking into doing it when I first bought the car. Unfortunately, the newly announced forum rules don't allow me to post a link to it so you'll have to do a bit of Googling.

Yeah, my MFSW is working fine, but since I have the midline display I can't get to the audio menu and thus change tracks and stations on my radio.

Anyone know if this is possible with the midline cluster and the old type MFSW buttons with the MUTE and CYCLE buttons on the left instead of the new type with the STAR and PHONE buttons?
