Major Service (40k) for Auto 2.7 V6 TDI B8 Prices

Have just nearly fallen off my seat...

Got a quote from Audi Exeter for a 40k longlife service for £575.00

Have not got the full breakdown but got the following prices from them:-

6.9litres Mobil 1 engine oil £109.30
Transmission Fluid £136.12
Air Filter £42.55
Fuel Filter £67.64
Pollen Filter ??????

Seems like an absolute rip off to me - any one had this service and what did you pay?

I paid £300 for the 1 yr service at around 18,000 miles last year...

Sounds really pricey. Have you tried getting a quote from an independent specialist?

I live in Exeter - I have just emailed around to the other dealers to get some prices...
I do know the business manager at Exeter Audi so I was going to pop down their and see what he can do with the price...
Would actually prefer to go to an independant but not sure of any around this area...
The other thing that makes me wary is that last year I checked the engine oil screen and when it came back from the service the level was EXACTLY the same which led me to believe the oil was never actually changed after charging £109 for the oil on the invoice.. either an amazing coincidence or they did not change it?

Anyone know of any good trustworthy independant in the Exter or surrounding area that can service my car whilst in the warranty period?

Hello,

I'm not near the second service mileage yet, but I asked my local dealer (Belfast) last year about the second service. They told me to expect @£550. This is the service were the gear box oil is replaced, obviously contributing to the price.

It'll be interesting to see how you get on.

Managed to get it for £420 in the end :-)
Also have reserved the RS5 demo for the day as a courtesy car
Me thinks after that it's gonna be difficult to give the RS5 back at the end of the day!!
