    Hi all!

I have a 2007 2.0tdi sline avant, just a question as i've searched through my owners manual and spent some time searching the net also, but does anyone know how to remove the covers of the interior lights? I'd like to upgrade them to some nice LED bulbs, but so far am stuck on how to remove the covers in fear of breaking them and what bulb types are in them... also would like to replace footwell lights and puddle lights to LED's too.

Hope someone can shed some light on what used to be in my other cars a simple inexpensive mod!

    Thanks in advance!

    Matt

ahh Jim! thats amazing! thanks soo much!

Did you suffer any cosmetic damage to the light units when getting a wedge in to release them? Would a flat head screwdriver do the trick?

I've already done the rear number plate lights, I went for the expensive option instead of the festoons, boy are they bright!! and no bulb error warning either! very impressive

    Thanks again

    Matt

    Hi Matt,
use something slightly sharper than a flat headed screwdriver ( or at least I did ).....slowly and careful and I have had no damage whatsoever and they all went back together perfectly.

Glad to be able to help

I'm tempted to do this for the interior lights as well.

But I just thought I'd add that the footwell and puddle lights may already be LEDs from the factory. They are on mine.

Only lucky up to a point - I can tell they are LEDs because they are bluer/whiter than incandescents, and so feeble that it was 6 months before I discovered I even had them!

I see my how-to guide is still useful. And to think I nearly deleted that last week from my site!
