few newbie 2.8 questions

hi
will be getting an A4 2.8 Quattro this weekend (year 2000 model) and really after some factsand figures about it. Fuel consumption, power, 0-60 etc.
Also I'm guessing the model is the B5 by the forum name, is that right?

As for the designation, it depends. There was a model change around 2000 so yours could either be a B5 A4 or a B6 A4.

It's easier to tell with a picture.

reading whatcars spec it says the 2000 2.8 Quattro should have a 6 speed manual box is this right?

It will be a B5 I'm pretty sure when the B6 was released it became a 3lt quattro well mine is and it's 51 plate Why not look at www.parkers.co.uk they do free car reviews

Cheers Doz, is yours a 6 speed manual? Reading the model history in Whatcar it says there was a model change in i think '98 and all 2.8 quattros got a 6 speed box, this sound right?

Just a photo i seen of this car looks like just a double H gearknob, im guessing 5 speed?

errr mines an auto Think your find it's 5 speed well thats what parkers list it as. Mpg is 26 but if it's anything like mine that soon drops if you get fruity with the loud pedal 197bhp just over 7 secs to 60. I use to have a b5 110 diesel and most disappointing thing was the rear leg room.

Cheers Dozz,yeah I read the rear legroom isnt great, but i dont very often carry more than 1 so shouldnt be too much a problem. Just been to view it and it is a 5 speed, read on a review somewhere they were all 6 speeds after '98, might of been a typo?
First Audi i ever sat in, felt great, really tight to drive and goes well too... cant wait to pick her up tomorrow night

yeah its love, im a converted man! drives great, pulls well in every gear and the interior is far better than any BMW I've owned too

Stuck £30 in her, have done 110 miles and trip computer says I got another 140 left (driving fairly conservatively though) so well pleased with that too. Nothing to do to her, stereo more than up to the job (Bose) just thinking about a different set of wheels as shes only on std 16's at present, kinda like RS4 or RS6 18's so will be on the look out over the next few weeks
