On the way to work this morning the radio decided to start scanning up the frequency range very slowly. If I pressed the button for the station I was on it went back fine, only to start scanning again about 10 mins later. Changed the station and it did it again! Same on the way home this evening.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    It's in a 58 plate GT TDI Sport 140......

sounds like it wasnt tuned in to a strong signal, or it could be a faulty connector, or even the weather, see if it carrys on over the next few days if it does then it may pay to get a scan as it will show up any faults with the radio

OK. This has been doing this now for over a week. The car was scanned last week at the dealer and showed now faults. I had the unit out of the dash this morning and there are no loose connectors. I checked that the aerial was screwed up tight too!
    Any other ideas?

A 58 plate means you are still in warranty, unless you've done mega miles. Let the dealer sort it. Be very insistent and make sure you know how to duplicate the circumstances under which it faults. Sounds like a replacement radio to me.

Make sure that even if there is supposedly no fault found, you get a warranty invoice/receipt from them that states the nature of the fault. That way you've got something to keep it alive, even if you're near the end of warranty.

Out of warranty I'm afraid; they aren't interested. Car has done nearly 66k! Possibly going to buy an RCD310 to replace it.....
