Decided to be nice to the car and changed the plugs in my lunch hour for OEM ones now its running really rough, 30mph seems to be the max! Examined the leads and the spark plug end are really crusty and green, bought new bosch ones, fitted them, no difference!

Any ideas? Im sure i'll make it home, i'll hook it up to the laptop to see what VAGCOM says but other than that im not sure?

P.S. i've put the old plugs back in and it makes zero difference. When i took the new ones out the front one was very black and others were covered in fuel.

did the car run fine before you changed the plugs and leads? if it did then you have put the leads on the wrong way round

Ok so it ran fine before the plug and lead change and now has a misfire? you swapped the leads one at a time? so if it was me i would remove the plugs and check the gap it is poss that one plug may have a small/no gap and its not sparking, if the plug gaps look ok then id check all the leads are in the right place and fully connected

    Hey Phil
Thanks for helping, just been out at the car and initially tried swapping some leads bit to no avail. Got a pic off the net of the abk engine and took off all the leads and started again copying the pic. The car fired up no probs with the old plugs in. Must have been me being stupid but hell knows how??!! Fitted the new plugs and it's fine. I'm not sure if the oem plugs can be gapped? 3 pronged type?

I really shouldve tried harder before crying for help!!
