Brydo I had a mki9200 in my Passat B6 and I agree it is hard to locate. I bought a Brodit clip that went over the centre air vent.

Right, the job is done! Took me about 30 minutes all in and about 25 of that was removing the previous glue and sticky pads from the screen and dashboard!

So I pulled it off as it was about to fall off, decided to move it about 1" left as it's easier to see without being hidden behind the indicator stalk that way from the drivers seat - it is a little on the metal trim but not much and this way it keeps the wire pretty well hidden.

Removed it and all the glue, resecured it completely with new pads and fitted - it's on there rock solid and doesen't move when you press it at one side.

As for the mic - I found a clip from my old kit and fitted that to the headlining and secured the mic up there... big big improvement. I've linked up some photos below and also took one above the light switch... the kit I have is too high to fit in the space securely.

The screen in its old location.

The mic in its old location.

The screen removed, what a mess.

The screen above the light switch, not a good fit.

The screen in potential new location - a lot better I think.

    The mic resecured... and again.

The screen now secured solid in it's new location... and again.

I also used some tape and secured the wires in behind the lower dash panels so they are completely out of sight. Some residue to clean from the dashboard that I'll do when I clean the interior - it's bloody snowing here again!

    Thoughts?

I had a Nokia Bluetooth handsfree kit installed in the ash tray.

Took the plastic liner out and the fitter bloke did a cracking job of fitting it.

Just thought I'd throw that one into the mix..!

    Cheers

In my previous car, I had the mic just in front of the interior light, clipped into the front of the roof - best place in case passengers wanted to jump into the conversation.

I had the control unit on the dash just behind the steering wheel, left hand (indicator) stalk - out of view of peepers.

    no pics - sorry.
    ... hope.
