    HI All,

I ordered a Passat cc at the end of November last year. As an upgrade choice I opted for the RCD510 Stereo system which has the Dynaudio pack (10 speakers and 600w output). Last week they now tell me this system is not available and if I wanted the Dynaudio Pack I would have to opt for the RNS510 which happens to be approx £1000 more expensive!

Obviously this is too much money but the point is that they sold me a stereo that was not actually for sale and had gave me the old upgrade choices. I’m a bit annoyed at this and when I complained they said there is nothing they could do more on the price of the car as they had already gave me a good discount, which I believe they have. The best they say they could do is 5% off the optional extras (which they say is their mark up on optional extras).

They accept that I would have the right to cancel my order as they had made a mistake for the car but do they have an obligation to give me what they sold me i.e the Dynaudio pack?

Also, I think the standard stereo is the RNS315 now, does anyone know if this is any good?

    Cheers

I expect their terms and conditions are as they said. They usually have an "Errors and Ommissions Excepted" clause, which means if they've made a mistake in offering you Dynaudio, which is not actually available, then they're sorry, they shouldn't have.

If it's a concern, ask for a test drive of a car with the stereo you'll actually be getting, then you can decide whether you want to cancel your order, or accept their offer of 5% discount on the extras.
