    Hello, I'm new to this.
    got a mk5 golf and window wipers where working grand when bought her but one morning it was really frosty so put hot water on the window etc and turned them on and they didnt work. but found out that the work when am driving the car...what is the criac wi this?? also the window washers dont work either....

    Washer fluid will be frozen or run out. I hope you used Luke warm water not hot as hot will cause the glass to crack. The wipes are designed to stop when the car is stationary, they resume as the car moves.

    i did refill it but it's still not working would it take a long time for the water to travel up thru the pipe to get to the window, if that makes sence..maby am not holding them on long enough??

    i no nothing about golfs

    I think I've heard of this problem before. I believe it's caused by a faulty switch on the bonnet lock mechanism. The car thinks the bonnet is open and so the front wipers and washers don't work.
