Mine is the RNS-E 2G. There's a 3G option but the price is considerably more.

OEM Retrofits who fitted mine are cheap in comparison to lots of other installers but by now means tacky. I had the conversion done too.

IMHO get the OEM Sat NAV RNS-E.

    good luck

I had an after-market sat-nav in my previous B6 A4. It was a Snooper Syrius. It worked well, was aesthetically pleasing when mounted on the dash with a Brodit pro-kit, and included one of the very best real live camera detection systems available. I really liked it; but.....

I now have RNS-E as standard in my new car. It doesn't do camera detection, but other than that, it is astoundingly good. It is so much more than just a sat-nav. It is also a radio, mp3 player, CD-controller and you can, if you wish, spec it to include fully-integrated bluetooth control of a mobile phone, i-pod control and, if you really want it, an analogue TV.

Mine has everything bar ipod control and the TV. I don't need ipod control, and could never, ever conceive of wanting to watch TV in the car (that is a purely personal view, of course, I know others will differ).

I now understand why so many people who didn't have RNS-E from the outset are willing to pay so much to get it retro-fitted. It is an astonishing piece of kit.
