Im getting an RNS-E SatNav (navigation plus) fitted next week into a single DIN unit. It's a "professional" job including the conversion to double DIN.

The unit is reconditioned and in good working order (not yet seen the unit):

    1. Is there anything i should ask or look out for before installation?

Hope you can help, as i dont want anything to crop up later and then find out on here, that it's a common fault etc.

    Cheers in advance.

The double DINconversion is in the price, including unit, all in £600.

They are using the same air con unit and i believe they file it down so it can be moved lower to fit the satnav.

Ive heard a lot of good things about oemretrofits and heard they do a cracking job, but £600 is a bit steep for me to be honest, i know its cheap compared to other routes, but i think i would have a job to convince the missus that £600 on a stereo/satnav is a worthwhile spend!! Lol
Do you reckon they do finance

Yah, I understand - it is not the cheapest way. Also, it is not cheap at all for what you get - a kind of old sat nav without a touch screen or ipod connection etc.

But I saved some money to get this done because I really wanted it (instead of going holiday and eatout etc). My car has got Audi original bluetooth and CD-changer with steering wheel control, which I didn't used for a while since I installed a sony cd-unit with BT, instead. I always wished fully utilise them. Everything works fine now.

The point is I just wanted to let people know if they desperately want it without getting their hands dirty. RNS-E may cost £300-400 from ebay, GPS antenna=£20, double din cage=£50, double din dash= £50-100?, a harnesses, some VAG-COM work plus a few hours labour. It is not that bad, I think...

I don't think they do finance, by the way.

Hi all does anyone know any where that this mod can be done in the West Midlands? I have an A4 b7 model with a standard concert head unit and would like it converting to a double din touch screen sat nav with parking camera if possible? Thanks
