    The manual specifies:

    a) for 'LongLife' service intervals (i.e. following service interval indicator) VW 503 01 or VW 504 00.

    b) for fixed interval ((1 yr/10,000 miles) VW 502 00; VW 503 01; VW 504 00; VW 505 01.

The dealer in the UK provides oil which is Castrol SLX longlifeIII, and which is marked VW 504 00/507 00. It's SAE5W-30. It takes 8 litres (with filter replacement).

Aside all that i seem to get through a LOT of it... Like a litre every 2000 miles, which is not in the dealer's view a problem. Having done ca. 10,000 miles of hard driving and hence run it in, I topped up with Slick50 (synthetic) and seem to be using less since.

    Hope this helps.
