What you have is a rip off of the genuine thing, waste of money, this site doesnt allow any talk about these ebay hong kong leads, if you want to use vag-com (VCDS) buy a genuine reg lead from ross tech

Tom, your original vendor has to supply the drivers. When you installed VCDS-Lite the first time, the drivers were already on your machine. When you had to re-do every thing after the virus, you probably wiped the drivers off.

Do you have a disk from the original purchase? If so, use it to load the driver. It will probably solve the problem. If not, contact your eBay vendor to get the drivers. Ross-Tech cannot supply drivers for hardware we know nothing about.

To Phil Miller: not all aftermarket leads from China and the far east are rip off products. Those that are compatible with VCDS-Lite are legit and Ross-Tech does not rail against them. In Tom's case, I believe he is using a legit VCDS-Lite compatible wire.

The products we rail against are the wires that claim to be compatible with VAG-COM 5XX and higher or with VCDS. These are all illegal rip-offs of our product. We are making efforts to stop these illegal sales but it is difficult to do.

We appreciate your support in helping us to stop these sales. We also appreciate this forum's support to stop the illegal sales.
