hey guys, first of all a great big hello, the tech help on these pages, and the support you guys give is amazing....
i bought my 02 plate Allroad on saturday, driving the 550 mile return trip (i wanted a specific colour combo. LOL), the car drove like a dream, everything worked as it should, its covered 146K miles now, and does have a stamped up service book, but no invoices, so dont know whats been done and not !!!!

about 100 mile up the M1, the warning light came on, and the car started to go down, more so on the front end, i pulled over at the first services, but could see nothing obvious wrong, a had a coffee, started the car back up, hey presto, it raised back up to the two green light and no warning light on the dash, about another 50 or so, it happened again, but now will not raise up at all, ive tried selecting the raise button, and it does give me 2, and three flashing green light, but refuses to do anything at all, so as it stands, i have NO front suspension, and 1 green light, and 1 orange warning light.

i had it booked into a indy audi specialist whom has had it up on the ramp, but cant see any visualy wrong, after paying perhaps a little to much for the car, i just hope its not going to cost me another arm and leg.
apart from that, the car in general almost looks showroom new condition.

any ideas, or help would be a god send ???????

    many thanks,
    Gary

With the front being low sounds like a leak, loads on this forum search for allroad suspension, but the not raising up is an issue with the pump perhaps not running?? This could be a number of things stopping this, You need a fault code read with VCDS to assist us in the right direction, check the wiring to the pump under the car is probably the easiest thing to start with, can you hear the pump running when you press the up button??

I get this and the solution is a pair of Allnots front bags. Genuine Audi ones are seriously daft money at over £500 each.

As Andy says, get a diagnostic done to see what's going on.

However the suspension is speed sensitive so did you notice the front lowering at a specific speed? The car should lower to Level 1 (all 4 corners that is) at around 85mph if you maintain that speed for more than 30 secs or so. As you slow down to a standstill it should raise back up to Level 2 the default position. If there's a problem with levels either left and right or fore and aft, the pump cuts out and a fault is registered in the memory and the yellow warning light comes on (little yellow car with 2 headed arrow underneath).

If the front is lowering and not the back it could be related to the valve block which is replaceable. It controls the input and outlet of compressed air to each airbag and sits right next to the compressor, just behind the rear axle.

My car had this fault and it took AGES to diagnose and I nearly replaced the wrong parts trying to fix it. The symptoms were the car being lopsided and not lowering evenly. Warning light would appear after it tried to reach Level 1. Turn off ignition and it would right itself, sometimes not. Check out a thread called "wonky allroad" for details!

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I find front drop is more often front air bag top fitting corrosion, one side leaning can be valve block but I have replaced those only to have the car still fall on its nose overnight.
