In an attempt to resolve a wee problem I had with my car I put it in our garage at work to defrost it. I was horrified at the state of the car once all the snow and ice had melted There were literally piles of salt and grit all over it. Assuming I get a few hours before spring where water won't instantly freeze how on earth can I get rid of it without damaging the paint work On the up side the winter wheels & tyres are fantastic but they do look tiny compared to the 19"
Check out Optimum No Rinse (ONR) on Detailing World - I have some but don't have the nerve to use this technique. During the winter months I use Bilt Hamber Snow Foam in an HD foam lance to keep the salt and grime at bay and give the car a proper hand wash when there is a thaw.
I just take mine (at least I did last week) to the local handwash place and they sort it while I stay warm inside!
I feel the yearly thread coming on.......

I have a sno foam lance but I just can't get a break in the weather where the faom and water won't instantly freeze. Managed to rinse it off today but the water was freezing on contact even with a pressure washer.
