    howdy,

    ive got a golf gti mk 4 and went to pop the bonnet the other day and to my dismay realise that the little catch you pull to open the bonnet has gone! anyone had this before and cost of fix or wat?

    How long have you had the car? If you have never noticed it, does that mean you never look under the bonet when you got the car?

    ive had the car nearly 2 months - yes ive looked onder the bonnet before.

    have you lifted the bonnet as far as you can without the catch, to see if it has been bent by accident and got caught under the bonnet lip?

    sure have - looks like its fell out completely! no snapped part or anything!

    well, as far as i knw, all the plastic tab does is hold onto the 'peg' is there no way to get a long pair of pliars or similar underneath to manuall release the bonnet?
