    hi,
    does any1 know where the brake light switch lives and how it fits??

    On most cars it's above the foot brake peddle, normally it screws down to rest on the arm of the foot brake so when you depress the brake the switch opens to makes a circuit.

    thanx 4 the reply jimbob. have found and changed the switch now but still having majour problems.....
    brake lights a permanently on even with ignition off!!

    if you disconnect the brake light switch do the lights go out?

    yes, been back to vw for a second switch but still the same????

    So when you disconnect the plug from the brake light switch the lights go out, if so then i think your not screwing the switch down enough you have to screw it down till it puts your brake lights out

    tried gettin the switch in, but struggle to get the switch to turn in the bracket. is there a nack to doin this?
