    Hi

    My coolant level light started flashing on Saturday. Having consulted the manual, it states that only VW G12 coolant can be used. Not wanting to invalidate the warranty or risk blowing the engine, I parted with the dosh and duly topped up the coolant. Needless to say, I'm going to keep a eye on it in case there's a leak somewhere.

    But £8.50 for a 1.5-litre bottle of the precious liquid??? That's near-as-dammit the same price as diesel!!! [EDIT - no it isn't! DUH!!! Maths was never my strong point :-).

    What's so special about G12, and why can't VW use something that is Euro/industry-standard?
