    Hi

Clutch was slipping has been for a while. Got it booked in and replaced clutch and DMF. Did around 50 miles (no probs).

Drove into Newcastle city centre this evening and gear stick goes sloppy and can't select gears (nightmare). Managed to get into 3rd and drove home. Tried reverse, nothing there.

Any ideas if there is anything I can do short term to get it to the garage or what should I be looking for.

    Thanks

iirc the selector is held on to the box with a 10mm or 11mm bolt it could well be thats loose, without looking underneath its a job to say for sure, did you hear any noise before you lost the gears?

    Hi Phil

    I didn't hear any noise.

Once in a gear the car drives and pulls normally, does this mean that it a purely a selector problem?

    Thanks

    Hi Peter

Can this be done top side, or is it back to the garage?

Weather not too hot up here at the mo, bit snowed in so can't see the car getting back to the garage quick.

    Thanks

There is a fore and aft shaft and a rotational shaft. As they had the gear box off then I sustect they only disconnected at the Gearbox end to access is from underneath. If you want the drawing PM me or post up your email address with the year, engine and gear box code form the ID label in the spare wheel bay. Regards Peter
