    Hi all,

My car went in last Friday for the long-awaited map update. This was the first time my dealer had attempted this, so it took them a while to download the instruction DVD and check up on the correct procedure before they started work.

Before the update, my map version was listed as 8R0060884C_ECE 5.6.8. Pic of the version screen is below:

The car was in the workshop for around four hours in total. The actual job took between 30-45 minutes - the rest of the time was taken in getting hold of the instructions.

When I got the car back, the map version had changed to 8R0060884R ECE 5.11.7. Pic of the version screen is below:

I noticed straight away that the the POIs had been updated - my local dealer POI was now shown at the correct address rather than the old site vacated by them three years previously. Since then I've also noticed that new roads not included in the old map now appear on the screen.

When I got home, I found the license update kit in the boot.

The part number for this is 8R0 060 884 R

Overall I'm a very happy bunny indeed! My car's software issues are all resolved, and I got a free map update too!

    Best,

    MF.

    Good news.

I have a similar offer of a free update but I'm gonna wait until March and get the 2011 version.

My software update still isn't perfect but more on that in the A4 forum

    MFGF,

A6_Chris has pointed me in this direction following my question about updates. I have a DVD MMI on a 2009 with the original map disc and have the annoying "Now Turn LEFT" woman with no sense of direction. Having trawled the 27 pages on this issue elsewhere I wondered if this issue has now been resolved.

    My version is:
    BNav.EU_K0022_D1
    4G0919884A_ECE 5.6.8

I'm buying a Map update (4G0919884J) and at present I'm not sure if this will just load without intervention from a dealer.

Going by that long thread and only skimming the first couple of pages I believe this is now a recall which includes updating the software for the prompts - might be missing something crucial but I've had a 'bad' day and have got a sore head
