Just purchased a Hex-USB+CAN interface from Gendan automotive products a supplier for ross tech.

Downloaded software from ross tech, no problems, but got to this point and am now stuck,

Click on the Found New Hardware message and the Found New Hardware Wizard should start up.

If you are prompted with the choice, pick “No, Not This Time” when asked if you

want to connect to the Internet to search for drivers. Select "Install the software
    automatically (Recommended)" then click

    [Next >]

The process should be automated but you may need to click “Continue Anyway” part way through the process.

The hardware wizard starts correctly but doesn,t give the option to install the software automatically, it looks for drivers, but states none can be found.

I am running windows 7 starter on my laptop.

Last point, would i need to be connected to the car to eliminate the problem.

Anyway thanks for looking, and any help you may be able to give, i,ll carry on with the search button for now.

Ross tech PDF manual tells you how..
And yes you would need to connect to the car diagnostic plug
    for it reconize and activate..

Hi Kahnaudi, the vcd came with full instructions, and i think i,m following them correctly, my problem is when connecting the vcd interface hardware to my computer, it gets recognised , but will not allow me to download the software automatically.

i,,ll try it in my audi tomorrow as you suggest, thanks.
