Just took posession of my new vcd Hex-USB+CAN interface, guess what looked on the site and can,t find anything related to where the diagnostic plug is located on my car, not even in hand book.

    Its a 3.0 liter a4 quattro year 2007 56 plate saloon, tiptronic s-line.

Ihave tried to find it on the forum, but the search doesn,t give me much info.

    Hope someone can help, thanks

Audi will probably consider the diagnostic socket as 'not for customer use'

I don't know if you've done this already, but before plugging the interface into your USB port; download and install the software. Let it do everything it wants; including loading the USB drivers. Then plug it in and let the 'Found new hardware' wizard do its stuff. If it asks if it may searck on-line, say 'No, not this time'

Now run VCDS and go to 'Options' and then 'Test'. With the interface plugged into your computer - but not into the car - it should say 'Interface Found' and give the type; informing you that it's not plugged into the car. If you're this far, the software and interface are working fine.

    Hi zennerdiode,

    I followed the above rigidly.

For some reason i,ve got this feeling no usb drivers where downloaded, do you where these drivers are stored,

Could i remove the original software and start again.

I have posted in the vcd section as well.

    thanks john
