I have a 2.5 174 T5 Kombi 2005 which has a vw gamma standard cassette player and vw 6 cd changer above it. I would like to change it to a double din vw sat nav unit (mdf2 rns). I know i may have to 'modify' the dashboard for it to fit and add a different loom behind (i've seen them on eb ay) but if anyone could shed a little light on this i would be most greatful-
    thanks

Is that the same unit as used in Toureg and Mk5 golfs? If so, then it's not a double DIN unit. And don't forget to get the GPS aerial.

[Hi there, yes it is the same unit as the toureg and new golf. i thought the fascia was larger but the back metal casing was a double din. it seems that my dash has a cut out to fit the larger fascia but if you say its not a double din then i doubt it will fit anyway.
    thanks

    Check this thread : https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...5780#post45780

Someone has already tried to fit an RCD300 radio (froma MK5 Golf) to an older model Passat with a double DIN dash. It didn't fit.
