More like a Freudian ski-jump, than a slip.

I know this is a very old thread but i may be able to help if anyone else is looking.

In 2002 i bought a Brand New Mini Cooper S. when ordering i added the full John Cooper Works Body Kit (Not Engine Mods) & 18" Factory Wheels. I Insured the Vehicle as Standard, as in my eyes it came from the Factory to the Showroom in that condition, i didn't crash land into Halfords and fill it with cheap after market body kit parts.

7 weeks later someone decided to jump a red light and crash into my beautiful new Car pushing me head first into a Traffic Light!!!! The Insurance assessor met me at the Garage it was taken too to do an Insurance estimate, He commented on the Body Kit and said they look much nicer with that Kit rather than the Standard Bumpers/Skirts.This is all that was said, No mention of whether i had added it after buying the car or whether it came out of the Factory like it. They even Paid out to have the Kit put back on when it was repaired, So from then on, if i have ever had a car that has had Factory Options Fitted (regardless of whether from new or not) i have not declared them, as in my eyes the insurance look at them as a factory option so are therefore Standard.
Hope this goes some way to help anyone decide whether or not to Declare. But before you take my answer as gospel, please understand all insurances are different, they will always look for a way out of paying!! Be safe and declare all modifications if you are a little bit worried. I'm not any way connected to any Insurance firm so i do not know this to be correct, i'm only going by personal experience.

Actully have to declare them if there is some sorts of modification done in your end, if your insurance provider will find out then it will be difficult for you to get payout. my friend was in same situation recently and it's really difficult to handle these situation
