Is it possible to use an instrument cluster from another A4? speedo and rev counter have packed in-is the unit matched to the car in any way? I know the car still starts and runs with no cluster so can't be part of immobiliser, thanks for advice

Hi, you need to get the exact match then, with diagnostic equipment(vag com works fine...) and the log-in code you could code the new instrument cluster to your car. The instruments cluster contains the immobiliser and if codded incorectly, it will not let the car start ! I suggest you see a good vw specialist or, if you live close to London, i could help ... Regards, Chris.
