Hi all, have any of you had a problem with a high idle after startup? It has happened a few times and sometimes corrects itself or requires me to switch off the engine and restart for it to return to normal. It isnt extremely high, just about 12-1500rpm but still noticeable. Its a 130 sport AVF I think? Also It judders terrible when pulling off in first gear, but returns to normal when warmed up, could this be the dreaded DMF? Would it not be constant if it was, not just when cold? Thanks in advance,
    Chris.

The high idle will need a fault-scan, post the results here.

The cold-judder could be condensation or oil/fuel on the clutch-plates.

I had a high idle on mine. Changing the coolant temperature sensor cured that.

Thanks both, would a faul code reader pick up a faulty temp sensor? Also, what is the cause of condensation, bellhousing gasket? If it were oil, wouldnt that be the input shaft seal! Is there anyway of knowing without taking the box off?
    Chris.

High idle is often due to partial failure of the accelerator switches. I would ignore the judder until the idle is sorted. Saves trying to find two faults that may or may not be related.
A code reas will tell you what is causing the idle, either fault code or engine measuring block scan.

I'm thinking, that because it resets after restarting, it has recorded
    whatever is at fault.

Condensation is caused by warm components cooling quickly,
    possibly plastic bell-housing plates missing.

Because its only happening from cold, it points to (possible) oil/fuel contamination occurring at rest, dripping through slats
on the bell-housing, and drying-out with friction upon driving.
This can be checked by just having a good look around the
    back of the engine.

    Regards
    Jim

Coolant temp sensor fixed high idle and engine racing on start up on mine. A simple fix.
