    Quick Question - what Battery do I need for a 2004 1.8T S-Line Quattro 190??

Would it be a Type 096 or a Type 027?

I normally order batteries from carbatteries-online.co.uk and its a bit vague as they list a 1.8T as 2000-2004 and 2004-on

I would check the car, but I don't get it till next week (and I know the battery is jiffed already) and want to stick the new battery on when I collect.

    Thanks

Mate, you need a 067/096, avoid the 027 like the plague as they are much smaller and have far less capacity. I just changed the battery on my S-Line, see my thread about this here

Thanks for the reply - 096 it is then!

Just read through your "How To" Guide - I'm looking forward to swapping the battery out! Not.....

Out of interest, did you source a cover for the battery?

Well I rang a few Audi dealers and none of them have a battery cover listed for my chassis. However, I don't believe the official one available for the generic B6 A4 won't fit so I will end up getting that (with the rain cover). Cost is about 20 quid in total.

Check that you have the radio code before disconnecting the battery!

Don't think the Symphony in it works anyway - at least I couldn't turn it on when I went to look at the motor.

Going to be ripping it out more or less straight away and upgrading to RNS-E anyhow - just got to find one at a good enough price!
