Hi all,

I recently acquired a Mk3 M-reg cabriolet (auto) which is a one owner vehicle but in need of a bit of TLC.

I don't want to spend much money on it, but am happy to tinker to sort things out.

Some of the issues are electrical so I was hoping to be pointed at the best reference for elctrical diagrams, (relays, etc).

Specifcally the first issues I am trying to solve are (by the way, I have indivdually checked all the fuses):
  1. Interior light (no power coming through), this is specifically the upper light, but even the lights on the gear shift aren't working, making it difficult to select Driv ein the dark)
  2. Interior fan.
    1. This seems like it may be caused by the 'switch' located in the 'airstream' of the fan unit (passenger footwell)
    2. The above assumption is because supply power directly to the motor causes it to run.
    3. the motor did run for the first few journeys when I got the car then stopped.
  3. Driver's electric window. I suspect the switch because:
    1. The windows work using the central locking (key - activated)
    2. The passenger window works using it's own switch, but not the driver's switch.
    3. However: When I took the switch out and tested it's contacts with a multi-meter, they all worked. Is there something else that is a common failure?
As regards the windows, I've seen references to checking for broken wires, or the relay. I've checked the wires, no visible breaks (I'll check again when I can take the pannel off and use a multi-meter to trace them through). I don't know which relay to check.

Any/all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Craig
