I know there are other threads regarding tyres but I after advice/opinions:

I currently have Maxxis MZ1 tyres on the Passat (215/55/16 reinforced) and they have been OK up to now but rather noisy so I don;t want theam again. They have now done 23K miles and while still legal (I swapped front and rears half way through) are all at around 2-2.5mm of tread. The grip has noticably dropped off and it's not jus due to the current weather.

At the moment I am looing at 3 options:

    1) - 4 new Falken ZE9's

    2) - 4 new Avon ZV5's

    3) - 3 Dunlop SP01's to match the new untouched spare giving me a set of Dulops with the best Maxxis as spare.

The costs are not the far apart but the Dunlops although only 3 tyres do work out the dearest.

Which option would you choose or can you offer a better option?

I have Dunlop SP1's, I like them, quiet and great grip, especially in the wet. However I did want Conti Sport Contacts 3's, but they didn't have any at the time, so Dunlops was my 2nd choice. Hope my opinion helps?
