Has anyone experience of removing Vredestein Space Master tyres off the Allroad 16" spare wheel...? I have read (on the Vredestein website) that they can only be fitted with a special machine but that doesn't necessarily mean they can't come off...?
I'm looking to fit a standard tyre onto this rim, so I'm also assuming the rim/bead profile of the 16" wheel is standard.
    Any info much appreciated, thanks...

Yes it does require a special to type machine. The foldable tyre is fitted and sealed to the rim without inflating the tyre. As this tyre inflated with a 12 volt compressor there would not be enough airflow to 'Pop' the tyre on. However you can remove the tyre is the standard way. Check on ebay is you can sell the rim and tyre as is and cover the cost of a rim. Regards Peter

    Thank you Peter...

After posting I decided to try and see how easy or impossible it is to remove the tyre- and it came off no problem. Replacement would be possible too though not in the standard manner and by hand, not machine. However, main thing is I've found that the wheel has a standard tyre rim profile so other tyres will fit.

The reason I don't just selll the wheel/tyre and buy just the wheel is that these wheels are a unique size and offset so no others will correctly fit the Allroad.

I'll be selling the tyre now on eBay but also looking for another Allroad spare wheel should anyone happen to have a spare spare... If so, let me know.

Yes Andy, I can get a more suitable snow tyre for that diameter rim.

Update... Your man came up trumps Andy so now got my set! Thanks!!

However, still interested to hear from anyone else with a 'spare' spare so that I can keep one for the original purpose...
