My fuel guage isn't working at all. The gauge is always at resting point (ie, completely empty). Error message on MFD is "Fuel system malfunction".

Car runs perfectly well however, just no fuel indicator.

VCDS has found this fault code in the instrument cluster:
    Fuel Level Sensor (G)
    - Open or Short to Plus

Does anyone have a description of the pins on the back of the instrument cluster so I can check them out? I don't fancy guessing with the 32 cables that are in there!

    Car is a 2009 Audi A3.

I don't fancy taking it to the dealer - wheres the fun in that?

Maybe you should chech the 4 wires that are connected to the lift pump in the fuel tank located under the rear seats.

    Good luck

P.s.I see that u got a 2009 audi,my car is a golf but the location should be similar...that s easier than going to the ********,Check the resistance of the wires.
