Hi all, I previously owned an A4 B5 2.5TDi Avant which had the instrument lighting permanently on, I now own a Seat Exeo ST 2.0 TDi which is based on the A4 B7 platform and uses the dasboard of the A4 Cabriolet. The instrument lighting is only on with the lights in the Exeo, is that the same on the Audi B7? I do find in certain conditions, that the instruments are not easy to see. Just curious to know if this is a Seat idea or did the Audi have the same....Julian

    Hi Julian,

I've got an 05 A4 B7 and I can confirm the Dash lights are only on when side lights on.
I have to agree I normally put my side lights on all the time as I find I sometimes can't see some of the dash.
The B6 and B7 are almost the same car so I don't know if the dash lights can be modified to stay on. . . .

    Mark.

In the A4 I believe the speedo lighting works so as that they are on all the time, but dim when in dark conditions to remind you to turn your lights on.

I only say this as when driving through tunnels, they stay on but quickly dim although the red needle stays lit.

    two options

change the adaption value for needles and instrument lighting in address 17 channel 19

code the central electrics for Nordic region, this will illuminate the clocks and activate the side lights with ignition on and light switch off

My B6 is set to Nordic so my side lights are always on in winter and then I recode for uk in summer
