    Hi,

I am in the process of retro-fitting heated washer jets to my 4Motion.

I have everything wired up and need to use the repair wire I bought (000979225) to wire in a mini blade fuse to location number 1.

Another guide I found for a Golf shows a way to "unlock" the pink connectors at the back of the fuse box to allow the new terminals to be slid in and then then you "lock" the connectors back in place.

On the Passat it does not seem so obvious. Has anybody else done this? I have removed all the fuses in the pink connectors.

It looks like a need to remove all the ganged 12v connections, but before I start bodging trying to bend bits of plastic with a screwdriver I thought I would see if anybody else has done it.

    Thanks

    Rob

Its hard to explain in words rather than pictures, but there are a couple of locking tags on the pink bit, you unlock those (with small screwdriver or similar) and the pink bit will slide to one side, allowing the repair wire to push in, pushing the pink bit back then locks the repair wire in

I think I have to take out the big 12v ganged connectors first as they have tabs that hold them in place. I can't see what else is holding it in place as I have opened up all the other tabs.

It's as Isaac says. Look for the latch. You don't take anything out. Once unlatched the inards move slightly and you can pull connectors out or push new ones in. When you relatch, the connectors are held in place again.

Alas, I couldn't seem to get it to slide at all and gave up and fitted an in-line fuse holder instead.

Couldn't face spending another cold evening mucking about!

    Thanks for the replies anyway.

This is going to sound daft, but you were looking at the fuse box from the back when you tried to unlock it I hope. The latch bit is on the back.

    Yes!

I found the latch, but opening that up did not allow any movement at all. I am pretty certain the ganged 12v connectors coming in needed to be removed but I decided not to try and bodge it.
