    Hi There

I'm not sure if my climate control is working properly. It seems that i'm getting hot out of the side vents (passenger side at times is almost too hot to touch) and cold out of the middles ones which overall means that I and my passenger end up getting to hot so have to turn the temp right down or open the windows which we shouldn't really need to do with climate? I wonder if I need to get it re-gassed but not sure why i'm getting hot out of the side ones when I want to cool the car down? I've noticed this a good 30 minutes into a jouney so I would have thought any clever heating to rid condensation etc would have completed earlier on at start up?

It's an 06 55 plan 2.0 TDI avant with 65k om the clock - when is a good time to get them re-gassed?

    Would appretiate any views.

    Regards

    Chazzee

sam eprob with my 06 A6. There is a valve in the heating system which on the early model A6's apparently clogs up and needs replaced (the engine blocks were not properly cleaned prior to assembly). I managed to find a service bulletin on the subject and will dig this out. From memory, the parts were around £150 and then maybe the same to fit, however as an interim fix, cycle one side of your aircon to hot, whilst the otherside is set to cold then revert to normal - should get things working for you - that's what I've been doing.

note the p/n's are LHD, you need to speak to your dealer for the RHD p/n.

Many thanks for your help. I tried your recomendation this morning but wasn't able to easly see any difference but then again it was cold outside so that may have scewed things. Would you mind telling me how the cycling helps as if the vavle is blocked then I don't inderstand how there could be a way around it?

    Thanks
