How many members do you need to 'get together' to be classed as a meet?

To be an 'official' meet, does the date and location and time need to be published?

What would an unnoficial meet be?

If I arrange to meet someone that I have only known of through this forum, is it 'official' or 'unofficial' or does it not make a difference?

Well I suppose it a forum meet if you arrange it on here really and invite members.

Also if you are meeting under the forum name we do expect you to act in a civilised way as not to bring the forum into trouble.

Our meet man is eshrules, he has been trying to arrange one but due to the spread of members its been a little difficult.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

only asked as i've been invited to go to look at some fibre glass art work on sunday night at a local ind estate by a fellow member and i've not met them b4 so i was going to be incredibly sad and document the occasion. I'm told that is a park your car and walk sort of thing. all very sensible for the on looker.

Will see if i can spread the word a little.

Sounds good, and any site promotion is allways welcomed.

Look forward to the report back as well.

as rob has said really, i dont think theres any issue with members meeting up with one another, as long as you dont bring the forum name into dis-repute.

the main problem with organising a meet is not drumming up the interest, but getting all those people who say 'yes' to actually attend, for various reasons, most people drop out towards the end which renders the meet pointless on most occasions.

i will be attending VW festival and i will be posting details of where i will be bobbing around and my contact details should anyone wish to come and let themselves be known

ill be doing a bit of snooping too, to see how these sort of events work and how the other clubs are representing themselves.

in the meantime, any promotion (as rob has rightly said) is always welcome and i always encourage ideas and feedback

i snuck up on myself last night and had a nice meeting, does that count?
You may think I'm being helpful yet sarcastic, this is only because I feel I need to help you to help yourself in the future
