    Hi,

Just had to get the radiator out of my 1999 Passat Estate 1.9 TDi and found that the spring clip that secures the bottom hose (same as on the top hose) had rotted away.

Tried the main dealer and found that you can only get the spring clip if you buy a new hose.

Any thoughts where I can get a replacement clip since both hoses are fine?

    Cheers for your help.

    Hi,

a jubilee clip of the correct size will work fine, and you should be able to get one almost anywhere.

    regards,

Dont think you can use a jubilee clip as the clip that is missing is the u clip that locates into the plastic section of the pipe

Sorry to say that a jubilee clip will not work as both the radiator and hose pipe are plastic.

The actual spring clip holds the 2 pipes together through some grooves in the side walls. A good idea, especially if you could buy replacement clips.

    Hi,

Your Dealer has been trying it on with you. I bought one a couple of weeks ago, along with the plastic clip which holds the sensor in the bottom hose.
It's either Part No. 032121142 (37 pence) or Part No. 1J0121142 (61 pence).
I'm not sure which one is which because I got the numbers off the receipt and they are just described as springs.
    Hope this helps.
