Airbag Warning Lamp Is On!

Hello everyone,

My problem is that my Airbag Warning Lamp is on. I purchased a 2004 Audi A4 Avant 130 Sport about 3 weeks ago and the light has just illuminated. I've been browsing the links on here looking for direction and there seems to be some similiar problems. I dont have VAGCOM, do I need it to reset the lamp? Also, there are mentions of the usual problem occuring under the passenger seat - connections. Where exactly is it, and what do I do - wiggle it a bit hehe? Some say cut the wires and solder them, but that seems excessive to me. Any thoughts would be great, Regards Kris.

DO NOT CUT YOUR AIRBAG WIRES! The connectors for the seat airbags are located under the front edges of both seats. Turn the car off and take the key out of the ignition. You may also want to disconnect your battery and wait for 15mins or so. After this, open the connectors and spray them with electric contact cleaner. Reassemble and see if the light has disappeared. If not, take the care to someone who has VAG-COM or a garade and get them to read your fault codes.
