Had a search but can't find anything - does anyone use an android app for OBD via a bluetooth connector?

Found this: http://www.appbrain.com/app/torque/org.prowl.torque which looks awsome if it works

I really want one of these...

I was going to search for ways of getting other info on the DIS but this is much more cool.

Going by the comments on that particular app the following cheap dongle should do the trick.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WIRELESS-BLUET...item2a07c6142b

Should then be able to provide real time data to your mobile on speed/mpg/torque etc as well as acting as a fault code reader

Got searching and there's a lot of apps out there. The clip showing one called rev is quite funny and impressive too:

[can I do this on here or is it classed as some kind of advertising?]

I have just bought this off ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=290431516867

I have an Android phone. The Torque app is only £2.95 in the market and there is a free ad supported version which is a little bit more limited but still allows you to read and reset fault codes.

Let us know how you get on with that reader, there's been mixed reviews of the cheaper Chinese ones but as long as it connects properly I can't see there being an issue

It arrived today. Plugged it in but couldnt find any details of what the bluetooth pairing code was but Android suggested trying 0000 and 1234 and the latter worked.
Then I just ran up Torque and went into the settings to select the OBD module to use and it worked fine. I tried the high speed communication setting and worked for a while but switching between screens it said it detected corruption and suggested turning off high speed. Probably would be fine with less dials on the screen though.
I read the engine fault codes and there were none logged which is always nice to know. The only thing that doesnt seem to work is the car speed and boost pressure gauges which is not unusual. I think if you can find the parameter you can add it yourself. I will head off to the torque forum in a moment.

Sounds good, is there an option to monitor MPG at all?

Yes it will do but you have to configure the engine size in the app. You can also configure the car weight so it can do a rough calculation of the BHP aswell.
