Hi, I have a 2003 1.9 tdi SE Avant. I removed the C/C unit to replace it with another which however as not quite the correct model, so I refitted the original. Now, I suspect that it is not working quite as it should, as the air temp is different on each side even when set to the same temp!
I have VCDS and wonder if someone could lead me through the process of calibration.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Post the complete Auto-Scan from this car using our current release and I'll take a look at it.

Hi, At last I have found a moment to do a scan which I have attached.
I would appreciate any advice you can give from a reading of this log.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,

    Based on the scan data:

Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 8E0-820-043.lbl
    Part No: 8E0 820 043 AA
    Component: A4 Klimaautomat 1219
    Coding: 00000
    Shop #: WSC 63251
    VCID: 60C4AC41CA3F

    No fault code found.

It looks like Basic Settings Group 001 will run the Potentiometer & Flap Alignment. I'll also note some HVAC modules will support Group 000 as well. If the later isn't supported, it will result in an Error, Not Available message and that will not cause damage or harm, it simply won't do anything.

I would personally try both one at a time and check for any fault codes after each one. If the temp. Potentiometer/flap motor does not run the test properly you should have a fault code stored.

Also look at the Measuring Blocks for the Left and Right Temperature Flap Motors to see if they look reasonable. It might not hurt to check them before and after the mentioned Basic Settings to see if anything's changed.
