    Default Bad fuel economy and no power – 30-10-2010,11:11 PM
    Ok guys I have a 1997 A4 1.8 SE that seems to have quite bad fuel economy. I think I have worked it out to be averaging about 28 MPG on a good run which is rubbish, or is that about right? Also when you put your foot down in any gear there seems to be a lack of power until you get to about 3500 RPM. i have no idea about what it could be but am quite mechanically minded so any info would really help me out. Also I can borrow one of these 'plug in' diagnostic things if that helps?
    1997 Audi A4 1.8SE - faux wood is the way to go.

    Getting the fault codes read would be a good start.

    Sounds like it could be a problem with MAF, or it could be an air leak of fuel delivery problem.
