Sat nav or not??

We acquired a 2003 A4 2.5TDi automatic last week for my partner, it is supposed to have sat nav (there is an Audi sat nav box in the near side of the boot) but no large sat nav display in the car.

I have acquired a handbook for the car as there was not one in it but cannot find any info on how to set or use the sat nav. Has somone removed the system and replaced it with a standard Audi stereo or are we missing something?

Does it have the nav controller buttons near the handbrake lever??

Hi, yes there are buttons near the handbrake. Without instructions though we are unsure how to set it up.

Nothing is missing from you car then, you have the CD based BNS4 Nav system. Its absolute rubbish to be honest, I'd forget about and use a Tom Tom or upgrade to the Audi RNS-E if you want a decent system

You might be able to find a user guide on-line somewhere, failing that you can buy one from Audi if you really want to use the system. (if you cant figure it out by playing with it)

It looks as if the interface would be clumsy to use . It was not the reason we bought the car but more of a bonus if it turned out to be useful.

If anyone has a user guide I would be grateful for any more information. Searching on line has not as yet produced anything useful.
