My exhaust emission warning lamp(amber light in dash)has come on lately, does this indicate that the lambda sensor is faulty and if so where is it located and how difficult to renew.Car is a 2002 1.8T 20V with 95000 miles.Thanks.

not always the case, you need to get a code read first ,it could be many things from coolant temp to throttle body faults, otherwise its just a guess and thats expensive.......................

Also forgot to say my temp guage is erratic - shows normal temp then falls to zero then stays there till the engine is restarted when cooled down.
