    It free to join,

So if you can get a good used one for £30, it would save a lot
    of messing around.

Dont worry about puddle lights, just tape the socket up and let it
sit at the bottom of the door. As long as the main feed socket is a
    match for yours.

ive jsut spent the past few hours re-wring the loom(took it indoors) and will try it in the morning again.

i tried doing a search to see if a 2002 loom would fit but no joy.i have a couple of pics of my loom and compared it to a pic of the 2002 loom and some of the plugs look different-i think the ones that plug into the ccm in the footwell

shame really as he was only asking £10 delivered

    UPDATE:

wiring loom was re wired and fitted today.at first everything worked fine but after a couple of times opening and locking the car its gone kaput again.

so far ive changed the door lock module and rewired the harness and must of tested it with a multi meter about 10 times and all seems ok.Theres no water damage to the ccm and all wiring in that water danger area is fine

    anybody got any other ideas?

Just two, if you are happy that the wiring between the door
and the A pillar (inside the bellows) is good, then its down
    to one.

The solder joints in the door lock module. They crack with door
slamming and need a drop of new solder on 2 or 3 points.

    Hi Jim,
thats when it first thought so i brought a replacement module but after fitting it it didnt make any differance.

The main reason i thoguht it would be the wiring loom was because when i wiggled the wires when it was all connected up the interior light came on,the door lock worked and so did the boot light.

The thing that confuses me is that to get it to lock i have to either put the key in the drivers door and turn to the lock position 4 or 4 times OR put the key in the boot lock and then turn to open and then quickly turn to the close position for it to lock.if all 4 doors are locked and i either open from the drivers door or boot all 4 doors open...so its working to some degree i guess

If i put the key in the passenger door lock and turn to either lock or unlock the door will unlock/lock but on that door and theres no mechanical sound(i guess then motor isnt doing its job) and the door pin just goes up or down.its almost as if theres no power getting to the module.

Ive got my interior light to work and it still is so im right in guessing that that little problem was down to wiring?

The only possable other explination i can think of is that maybe theres a loose connection on the wiring loom plug itself and the problem only arises when its plugged in? The angle of the wire after it plugs into the module is almost a right angle so possabley moving the plug which contains the female connectors? although i did to the multi meter test at all angles so i dunno

a real head banger this has turned out to be...I must be on about 20 hours now trying to fix it.

if you really think it is the door lock module(s) then ill crack one open(have 1 sat down stairs) and check the soldering.

    thanks

Yeah, i know how you feel, sounds like theres a combination
of faults, its a challenge, I'm sure you'll beat it.

Good practice for the front passenger door

ive jjust opened up the original door lock module i took out and theres 1 possable solder issue (just looks a bit dry and grey) but on the other side of the solder joints where the plug pins extend from theres a couple of crusty contacts?

did a multi meter test and all seems fine

    hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
