Some advice re bumper removal

How do you remove the rear bumper on a VW Golf1.4 series 5 ?
Can anyone signpost me to a step by step guide. I've just purchased a Witter towbar that I want to fit . The person who sold it to me said it was relatively easy to fit once I removed the bumper. However, I can't find all the bolts can anyone help ?

I have personally posted masses of information on fitting a towbar yo a mk5 golf and frankly i'm horrified that 1. You had to ask and 2. You asked in the wrong section.

And you posted in either the towbar secrion or mk5 golf section, the answer would be staring you in the face.

personally, I'd just tie a length of rope around the bumper. attach the other end to a sturdy object and drive away quickly.

Come on Chaps! I Know its annoying to post in the wrong section (I would suggest that at registration you must agree to be berrated, but it does not!), One Post Wonders´ are challenging, especially for mods. But their intentions are Genuine.

afaik, we now have a procedure in place to direct new members to a thread, which explains posting etiquette.

And believe me Bratty, if you had to delete, edit, clean up and move threads as much as the team do, you'd realise why we're on such short fuses.

Aye, that's a fair point to an extent but you don't have to be a mod remember. Give it up if you don't like parts of the 'job'.

Some one-post wonders will turn into long standing and very useful members, Everyone has to start somewhere. Berating and being condescending to new members will only contribute to the downturn of the forum IMO

I did - I gave it up a while ago, to run EE and I missed being involved in the team.

The trouble we have on this forum is new members who sign up, go to the first forum they spot and post away. I can almost put money on the OP not returning - they haven't since posting this thread.

I'm not going to get into a protracted argument over this guys - I'll welcome suggestions on how to tackle the issue, but I really don't see what else we can do.

There's a new member thread, designed to explain to new members what exactly to do if they have a query, where to post and so on. Surely, you can only lead the horse to the water...?

Maybe some gradual post limits on each section, maybe newbies starts at 0 vehicles at 1 and the rest at increasing sections that you would expect them to be able to access the relevant experience level. I.e. 25 for off topic etc. It will separate the leeches from the active members that we want here.

Ads etc can be accessed by all. Just an idea.
