I have a couple of questions relating to my 1.9TDI unit.

My engine always runs at 65 - 70c, is this normal? As I though norm operating temps are around 85 - 90c

I also have alot of oil which seems to be leaking from the manifold to intercooler pipe - have been told that this maybe fue to my turbo being warn and letting oil through? Really hope not as I has the turbo ispected and re-balanced at turbo technics at 115k (now done 135k)

The engine seems to be getting noiser and a little rougher too - peroformance seems to have suffered too

Has anybody got any ideas what could be wrong? I generally have my oil changed every 8k which has recently been done.

    - Might be worth mentionin that I have a de-cat fitted and have blanked my EGR off too

Any advice would be more than welcome

No it should be at 90 when warmed up. I'd suspect the thermostat and/or the coolant temp sensor.

Ditto to Issac's comment but try the sensor first as the thermostat would be fully open after a few miles drive, so the coolant would then be at running temp. Yes bang on 90 degrees is what you should see on the gauge. Have fun as they are pig to get at but only a 5 min job.

So this has nothing to do with me blanking off the EGR? I thought with the hot exhaust gas not being recirced it might of brought the engine temp down

So what are the ramifcations of havin a duff therosat? is it damaging my engine?

What about the oil in the manifold?
