    Hi,
I have AUDI A4 1.9TDI PD 130 – engine AWX. She just had cambelt changed.

I believe RPM went up from 800 to 860 so I would like to check/adjust injection timing.

I know how to check injection timing via VAG-COM (Measuring Blocks, group 4).
I just wonder if there is any “how to” or “DIY” how to mechanically adjust timing. I only know that there are 3 bolts which secure the two parts of the pulley together – I would like to see any pictures where are these or so….

    Any help really appreciated!

    Thank you,
    Dan

Think 860 is ok, has it lost power or is it smoking under acceleration?

Setting injection timing is done at each injector, its quite involved but if your eager, Crasher has a how to on here somewhere.

    Regards

I didn't realized any smoke, it runs as before though. I might have a bid higher consumption though...

The cam timing on a PD engine can only be set/checked using a locking plate in the crank pulley and a locking pin in the cam pulley which means stripping the front of the car down again. The “Tipex and pray” method should never be used.

Yes they did, but probably they didn't check it with a vagcom.

I have synchro angle on 1.1 (see below), however it needs to be 0 - will sort it tomorrow.

You CANNOT check the cam timing or Commencement Of Injection of a Pumpe Düse engine with VAG-COM!!!!!!!!!! It is set purely using the locking tools, only a VEP TDI can have its COI checked in Basic Settings.

Probably I didn't write it clearly what I wanted to know...

"You can check that your cam is in time with your crank shaft. Basically you are checking your timing belt installation is proper. This is adequately done by using crank and cam locking pins during installation, if the belt is kept properly tensioned. But the check is easily done, and can flag belt stretching or other problems.

Go to measuring block 4, field 4, and check the value. It should be between -3 and +3, with zero being ideal.

If it gets more negative than zero, your cranking time gets longer.

You adjust the cam sprocket to make this adjustment."
